They best way to create trust and maintain credibility on Facebook Live Videos

The biggest question many marketers, businesses, and influencers ask is:

How do I get people to watch, listen, and follow my guidance through Facebook Live video?

Well, our primary goal at Live Leap is not only to grow your Facebook Live audience, but drive more qualified leads, and increase your exposure with Facebook Live Video.

There’s fundamental strategies that open lines of communication, and simply grab the attention of your spectator.  Some of these strategies are often looked over  when going LIVE on Facebook.

We’d like to give you some guidance when running your Facebook Live videos.  So let’s get started!

Step 1:  Practice going LIVE with your phone’s camera

I know this sounds crazy, but you have to ask yourself...

Would I watch this Facebook Live video?
Do I look and present in a way that shows credibility with my Live Feed?
Am I creating engagement and asking questions to entice my users?
What am I doing to keep users on my Live feed, and why do they continue watching?
Are my topics clear with absolute direction?
 Do I have a good call to action for my viewers (regardless of pitch, where do they go after my Live video has ended)?

Now, without going into too much detail, there’s A LOT of VERY important questions you can ask yourself.

The reality is, you have to be willing to test yourself enough times that you feel comfortable going LIVE to the public.  This can only make your Live videos more powerful.  You definitely want your Live video to be memorable, and something people reminisce on.

Everything in business is a sales funnel.  Even if you’re NOT selling, you should have a funnel for your Live Videos.  If you deny, and say, “there’s no funnel for my live videos.”  Take a look at the below example so we can prove YOU NEED A FUNNEL (selling or not).  

Example Live Video Funnel:  Live feed content (the “Say something about this Live Video…” The text you write before you GO LIVE) → Go Live → Welcome Message → Where’s everyone coming from → How’s the weather in California Tom? → Introduction to content → Who’s ready to hear more about this today? → Content or training → Ask questions during content or training (maintain user engagement) → Convey the problem (are you rambling or do you have a solution?) → Express a better way or solution → Setup for the CTA (call to action) → Release CTA (Call to Action) → Do you have questions about this process? → Q&A (questions and answers) about content or training → Is there Scarcity (if so, express it!)? → Why is the user going to DO IT NOW → Show your appreciation to your users and ask them if they plan to  join your next feed → Conclusion → Wish them a happy day

See what I mean by there’s ALWAYS a funnel?  I could have wrote about 20 more imperative points, but you need to ask yourself if you are ready to Go Live to the public?  Don’t be scared, it’s easier than you think.  Like anything, practice makes perfect, and you can only get better as you go.  So test yourself!

Here’s some key things to think about while you’re testing:

  1. Introduction

  2. Welcome (greeting)

  3. Sharing (how do I get them to share, and when’s the best time to ask for the share, we recommend 3 times during each Facebook Live Video)

  4. Liking and Commenting (this is known as engagement)  Note:  Engagement boosts your Facebook Live video in people’s newsfeed “known as EdgeRank.”  Creating engagement will only help push your Live Video in front of more people

  5. Content

  6. Problem

  7. Solution (time conservation, automation, etc.)

  8. CTA (Call-to-Action)

  9. Objections (ask for them, prove you can overcome objection; just means more engagement)

  10. Q&A (questions and answers)

  11. Showing your appreciation for their attention (the Thank You)

  12. Ask for their commitment for your next Live Video broadcast (if possible, create a schedule or set time daily/weekly/monthly so people have the opportunity to tune in on your next Live Feed) 

Once you are done studying this process as a full test you’re ready to create an outline for your FB Live feed.  Keep in mind, if you’re using desktop software or screen sharing, you can take your outline and create a beautiful Power Point presentation or Google Slide deck.  We’ll discuss why outlines and/or presentations help your Facebook Live Stream.

Creating a rough outline for your Facebook Live stream:

The primary use for a Facebook Live outline, is to organize your talking points (thoughts), and help maintain sequential coverage.  The trick is to try and avoid looking at your flashcards (just like your 6th grade teacher taught you).  If screen sharing, an outline can simply be your presentation.  Here’s a few resources we use to create our outlines and presentations:

The good old whiteboard (be sure to take pictures and upload to a Google Drive folder before you erase so you can share your thoughts with others! - )

So here’s a quick explanation of how we use these tools to help us with presentations and outlines.

We use Google Slides or PowerPoint when creating our presentations.  You can search through an array of templates to make them beautiful here:

We use Jing to create quick quick outlines, screenshots/record your screen (video), and so much more.  Jing is a powerful software that allows you to screen capture (video and image), and annotate for others.  We use it with just about EVERY department in our business.  Here's an example annotation image we created from JING:

When we plan to do a more in depth plan, diagram, mind map, or funnel we use in a mind map tool that allows you to create more advanced brainstorm maps.  This is NOT a REAL outline, but an example done with

If we want to get it done quick, we hop up from our desk and start drawing on the whiteboard!  I’m sure you’ve done this once in your life.

With all these tools you should be able to create a pretty robust outline and/or presentation.  Keep in mind, some are paid, and some are free.  If you’re on a budget, aim for the FREE resources.

After you create your outline…  Do another test!  I know you can’t stand my advice, but trust me, it’s only making you smarter, and stronger with going Live on Facebook!

From my experience, it takes 3–6 attempts to make it through your Facebook Live rehearsal without stumbling, losing your thoughts (outline), or forgetting key talking points due to engagement or interaction. Just keep practicing so you can get a comfortable feel for it.
